There are Diamonds in my Champagne

Okay so... you probably saw it in the papers on Sunday. Remember the 100 mil dress? Nightingale of Malaysia?

Went for the Stylo gala dinner :) Invited Emily and Alia along since my parents left me for the F1 dinner at JW Marriott... which you would have seen in the papers today.

Anyways, it was extremely last minute for them but as luck would have it everything sort of worked itself out and by 8.45pm on a Friday night, we were there at the Stylo Fashion Cube. We even got photographed... various times! Please allow me to be full of myself for 5 minutes la alright it doesnt happen everyday cheh.

We were pretty early to arrive but right after us, everyone came and in pretty flashy immaculate dresses. Ate some good hor d'oeuvres (think cucumber, cheese, duck, vegetables in spoons) and drank some... stuff before they finally opened the doors to the catwalk area. Tun Badawi came (and he slept through the fashion shows) as well as Jimmy Choo :) Before the higlights of the night, they unveiled their 100 million ringgit dress. To be honest, if you saw the sketch you can't really tell much about how it would look like so i was pleasantly surprised. The front had nothing so everybody couldnt see what the big deal was about until finally she turned and people were gasping and all. Haha. Trust high society people to be dramatic. But hey, dont get me wrong, they're a really nice friendly bunch :)

The night started off with the 3 guest spanish fashion designers; Maria Lafuente, Angel Schlesser and Agatha Ruiz de la Prada. Perhaps the conventional crowd wouldnt wear Agatha's clothes but her designs and show were just so fun and amazing to watch. Hearts for buttons, corals for hairbands and lips for pockets; everybody in the room were literally smiling (except for Pak lah cause he was asleep la).

In between everything, they also gave away the awards to various designers; Melinda Looi, Edric Foong and Jendela KL all won stuff. Tom Abang Saufi and Khoon Hooi (who didnt win anything sadly) were sitting right in front of us :) Call me starstruck i just really like the guy's gowns. We also sat next to this lady who happened to know almost everyone there too but talked to Em and us about everything. I really dont know her name but i guess her picture would surface somewhere.

So yada yada yada everything finished, we were invited to have some food and refreshments at the British India lounge before venturing back into the cube for a special flamenco dance by a famous troupe straight from Spain and fireworks to close the event. They served bigger and tastier hor d'oeuvres plus mee from Hilton and some pretty good nasi lemak and curry. But the best thing was that everyone was sandwiched together, meaning Maria Lafuente and Agatha were there (tried to take a picture with them but she downed a Heineken bottle every 5 seconds) and not to mention... Jimmy Choo!

Ok la, honest to God, i think his handbags are ok and i actually havent seen a shoe from him that i massively like (and um... i dont actually have anything from his label anyway) but wtf who CARES it was jimmy choo. So before he took his nasi lemak i came up to him and asked for a picture and he went.. "owh yeah yeah! sure!"

Score.

Around that time people also started showing off and wearing their masks for the after party (a mask is required). Seriously, these ladies have masks that look like they flew to Venice just to buy. It was pretty late by then though so we went to watch the flamenco dance which was an eye-opener in more than one way. Straight after, we left via red carpet (cause we can la pfft) and headed to my house for a sleepover.

Fantastic night.

Btw, if you see any publications with the word MODA can you please search for our picture? The photographer got this wonderful photo of the 3 of us but rushed off before i could ask anything.
