It's all just work... and looking good while you're at it.

class A-D1

My classes just started at Raffles 2 days ago and its been hectic. I've already spent so much money buying all the stuff for each class. It's crazy.

On the first day (wednesday), we had colour theory with a nice guy named Joseph and that was pretty boring cause we had to construct a very complex colour wheel... or colour hebrew star (the six pointed star la). So many lines here and there on a A3 sized board. Ugh. Then came Sewing Applications 1 which i thought would be more interesting.... but dammit, i do hate the machine. It always does stupid things to me like mess up my thread line. A stressed out day and that was only Day 1. Plus, Aisha our SA 1 lecturer already gave us an assignment which was to sew a skirt and bermuda shorts for guys (we can choose our own fabric/colour). Damn.

I was looking forward to Thursday cause it had Fashion Drawing. Well, our first class was Fashion Draping 1. In short, it was a bitch. Each of us got cool black mannequins and we had to take out all the guidelines (which are strings pinned on) and put them back accordingly. My fingers were all red and painful plus my nail broke right through the middle even though it wasn't long in the first place. Joseph also conducted Fashion Drawing. He got us to draw a full length picture of a woman in any pose and in any type of clothes just to gauge our ability. I didnt really like the idea. I could tell he was going to give me a hard time for it.

Sure enough, he memorized my name and started asking me how should you shade, tone or how many types of pencils should you use, what other ways can you do it etc. Well, i got everything wrong of course and i wasn't expecting it in any other way. Ronney (Draping teacher) and Joseph both gave us assignments. >_> I finished the draping hw but im too tired to try and perfect the shadows on a circle, cylinder and square. Plus draw 2 whole A3 papers full of eggs and circles. Weird, i know.

drafting class. sleeveless arm belongs to Debrina (she's from bali, dont mess)

I decided to wear my Maxmara blazer today and use the Marc Jacobs bag cause it was huge. Heh... let's just say i wasnt the only one doing that (wtf... who can beat someone using TWO marc jacobs super huge bags?!). We had Womens Wear Drafting the entire day in the big spacious sunny classroom aka A-D1 that overlooks the front of Raffles. :) I enjoyed drafting until the part Ronney told us if we fail any sewing/draping/drafting class, we will graduate late. Then he added drafting had a mid term exam.... in FEBRUARY. Wtf. 4 hours to draft the clothing on paper and produce a pattern piece (its a cutout with all the measurements used to cut the fabric for production). No, its not as easy as it sounds really. You have to be all precise and shit.

Life is hard. Too much work on the first 3 days of college. Yesterday night did not help one damn bit. I dont think i slept enough cause when i woke up i had a perfect tracing of a half circle underneath both my eyes, like i was dying from some unknown disease. It was crazy. I was thinking about skipping class but wtf its only the 3rd day.

Anyway, there's quite a few international & outstation students.There's one local girl though who's extremely obnoxious and stuck up. Even her name sounds like it. Ugh. I dont like her at all. So unfriendly. Ahhh...but right now, Im beginning to miss conversations where i literally continue talking fluidly. It's weird here in some ways. I think i've been keeping pretty quiet.

Probably not for long.

But remember how i said my class has no guys? Im wrong. There are guys. No gays even, weird enough.
